John Port School
We are students from John Port School in Etwall, Derbyshire and are competing in the PIC Challenge in 2012/2013, we will post updates on our progress hopefully every time we meet to work.
In our team are Jack, Jacob, James and Ben. Jack, Jacob and James have done this challenge before and came 3rd in the regional finals last year, we hope to reach the national finals this year, if not win the challenge.

Progress So Far
So Far
We have been working on the folder, we have successfully designed and made our own PCB, all components have been soldered in and the first stage of PCB testing has happened.
Tonight
We have fixed the problems with the circuit (An incorrectly soldered diode and an incorrect resistor) and the PCB is now working. James has begun designing the program using circuit wizard and we have working motors.
We have completed some research for the folder and we now have a complete Time Plan

Best of Luck for Upcoming Regionals
We'd just like to wish everybody taking part across the country in the upcoming regional finals the best of luck. We are really excited to have this brilliant and exciting opportunity, and we are really looking forward to our South-East Final next month. Is anybody else finding the PIC programming a little difficult? We are, but it's part of what we enjoy - learning new things.

Thanks
Thankyou very much, good luck to you too! In regards to the PIC programming, last year we used that and it did take a bit of getting used to, this year we have decided to use the GENIE software and chip, as we have found this to be an easier way to program our circuit. Good luck to all competitors!
