Is it permissible to use laser projection systems to sense the obstacles by creating a 3D "map" of the robot's surroundings, using the same techniques used in a laser scanner?

Hi,

Providing the data is processed by a PICAXE or GENIE chip, and any lasers do not exceed Class 2 then this method would be acceptable.
Lasers exceeding Class 2 would not be permitted for saftey reasons.
